Ideally the best time to instruct a designer to come up with the plans for your garden is over the winter. The design process is not a weather reliant process as long as there is dry day to get out and perform a full site survey the design process can start.
Depending on the size of your garden, your wish list and the all important budget a set of professional design drawings, planting plans and tender documents can be anywhere between 4 – 6 weeks.
Add onto this time taken to receive suitable quotations from preferred landscapers and a start date (a busy landscaping firm this could be up to 4 weeks) and already you are looking at 10-12 weeks to get the work underway.
If you are looking for a new design for late spring – early summer you really need to be arranging a designer now to avoid disappointment.
